Sponsors and Supporters

Cal-ESAR is a nonprofit team completely funded by it's members and supporters. All team members provide their own equipment and transportation, and take vacation or unpaid time from work to perform searches and training. Support from the community is vital to our ability to perform our missions.

Community Organizations
Two community organizations have been extremely supportive of Cal-ESAR. Our Lady of Angels Church in Burlingame, California provides us with a place to hold our meetings. This saves us large amounts of time and money and is deeply appreciated. The Elks Club of San Mateo supports us with some financial donations, which goes towards our operating expenses.

Vendors
Cal-ESAR is in the process of building one of the best web sites for volunteer search and rescue teams. This site helps us operate much more efficiently, attract more members, solicit more funding, and in the long run, better serve the state of California. The following vendors have been extremely supportive of Cal-ESAR and we are deeply in their debt. Each and every one of them responded very positively when we requested a donation of their product or services and continue to support us to this day. We strongly recommend their quality and professionalism. Please click on their logo to go to their web sites. If you have any questions at all about their support or products, please contact David Kovar - kovar@calesar.org.

Telamon, Inc.
Telamon, Inc. produces a paging system called TelAlert which is used by everyone from small SAR teams, to local companies, to Fortune 1000 companies. They have been very supportive of Cal-ESAR and have donated a copy of their product to the team, which has dramatically improved our ability to perform timely callouts of our staff. TelAlert's web interface provides us with a lot of flexibility in implementing our callout process while their two-way acknowledgment system greatly improves both our ability to get information out to the volunteers and helps us determine their status.Prior to Telamon, our paging system ran on a PC accessible to only one person. With Telamon, the system is not only more flexible, but it's accessible via the web, allowing any of our operations staff to page individuals, groups, or the entire team. We're deeply indebted to Telamon for their support! WebNexus, Inc.

WebNexus, Inc
WebNexus is an Internet Service Provider that has been extremely supportive of the team for many years. They host our site, provide colocation services for our server, and support our mailing lists. They're extremely responsive to our needs and provide us with very professional, and personal, attention.

Caldera, Inc.
Caldera markets a commercial version of OpenLinux that is extremely easy to use. We considered using RedHat, or one of the other relatively inexpensive and available versions of Unix, but went with Caldera because they have ported Netscape's products to their OS. Netscape's Directory Server is an integral part of our system for managing our roster and pager call-out. We are extremely pleased with the product, it's ease of use, completeness, and support.
